NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Pelvic recurrence is common after resection of hepatic metastases from rectal carcinoma, according to a report in the August Archives of Surgery.

GVHD reversed by extracorporeal photopheresis-treated cells

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Cells treated with extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) can reverse graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) by increasing donor regulatory T cells and by indirectly reducing the number of donor effector lymphocytes that have not undergone ECP, according to the findings of a study that used two well-established mouse models.

Breast Cancer Symposium Highlights New Studies on Breast Cancer Screening, Treatment and Access to Care 

Washington, DC— New research on breast cancer treatment, detection and disparities in care were released today in advance of the 2008 Breast Cancer Symposium, being held September 5-7, 2008, at the Washington Hilton.

 

2008 Breast Cancer Symposium Awards $14,000 to Oncology Fellows 

Alexandria, VA—Organizers of the 2008 Breast Cancer Symposium today announced the winners of the Symposium Merit Awards. Fourteen physicians-in-training will receive funding to assist with their travel to attend the Symposium, to be held September 5-7 in Washington, DC.
