ASCO is engaged in a number of initiatives and activities related to issues of importance to the conduct of cancer research. These issues include: (1) central review of clinical trials, (2) clinical trial endpoints, (3) embryonic stem cell research, (4) federal research funding, (5) patient-reported outcomes, and (6) quality clinical trial site project.
Central Review of Clinical Trials:
ASCO supports centralized review of multi-center clinical trials to improve the consistency and efficiency of clinical trial review.
FDA Project on Cancer Drug Approval Endpoints:
ASCO organizes, along with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), National Cancer Institute (NCI), and other professional societies, workshops to evaluate potential endpoints for cancer drug approval.
Federal Research Funding:
