The online abstract submitter is now available to oncologists and other health professionals who would like their scientific research to be considered for presentation at the 2009 Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium, which will be held January 15-17, 2009, at the Moscone West Building in San Francisco, California. It is hosted by ASCO in partnership with the American Gastroenterological Association Institute (AGA Institute), the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), and the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO).
The 2009 Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium will offer educational sessions and abstract presentations focused on different gastrointestinal disease sites, with sessions devoted to esophageal and stomach cancers; pancreatic, small bowel and hepatobiliary cancers; and colon and rectal cancers offered over the course of the three days. General sessions throughout the meeting will focus on prevention, screening, diagnosis; multidisciplinary treatment; and translational research.
A Program Committee composed of representatives from the sponsoring organizations will evaluate and select abstracts for oral presentation, poster display, or publication only.
Abstracts that have been presented at previous events are eligible for submission. Prospective authors are encouraged to review the submission guidelines carefully to determine whether abstracts chosen for the symposium may be presented at subsequent meetings of the sponsor organizations.
Abstracts can be submitted online through Friday, September 12, 2008.
